The Other Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn

Do you ever have that one favorite author that no matter what, you stop all else to read? The one that you hear about in passing and stop to overhear a conversation? That author that you realize is publishing a new book and without knowing when wanting a copy of your own?

I have a small list of authors that fit into the above questions and without a doubt, Julia Quinn is up there.

Later July…

Holy smokes you guys, half of the year has come and gone!
I think a lot of us get to wondering what happened? How did half the year go by? and every time I laugh about it because I know what and where and all that but it’s still so odd to think that it’s almost another year gone by..

And speaking of things going by, I finally caught up to my reading goal! Woohoo

Book Review – The Story of Beauty and the Beast

Madame de Villeneuve’s The Story of the Beauty and the Beast: The Original Classic French Fairytale by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve
Kindle Edition, 148 pages, Published February 4th 2014 by Blackdown Publications (first published 1740)

As far back as I can remember, I’ve been in love with “Beauty and the Beast” thanks to the Disney adaptation. Being able to watch that on such a large screen at such a young age, made me think that it was something I could easily see myself doing for the rest of my life at least until something else came my way which it did. 🙂

Book Review – Of Thee I Sing: A Letter To My Daughters

Of Thee I Sing: A Letter To My Daughters by Barack Obama | illustrations by Loren Long
Kindle, 40 pages | Published by Knopf Books for Young Readers (first published November 16th 2010)

After reading Hillary Clinton’s “What Happened” and having to return Michelle Obama’s “Becoming” back to the library due to a waiting queue that wouldn’t let me re-borrow it, I was on the search yet again for a book. One that I hoped was not just on my TBR but one that could qualify for a reading challenge or two.

Book Review – I’ll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman’s Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer

I’ll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman’s Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer by Michelle McNamara, Gillian Flynn (Introduction), and Patton Oswalt (Afterword)
Paperback, 368 pages | Published February 26th 2019 by Harper Perennial

When not reading, it happens I swear it does, I can be found doing things outside the home: concerts, films, hanging, etc but when I’m at home with some downtime, you can find me binge-watching crime dramas.

A lot of people ask how I can binge watch shows such as Criminal Minds and Law & Order (all of its interpretations), Blue Bloods and such and while I can talk about great writing and acting, the truth is that each show gives a different glimpse about the crimes projected and that is fascinating in a macabre kind of way to me. Always has been for as long as I can remember.

Back into reading and I’ve never felt better.
Seriously I was totally missing it and I had to make room to get it back into my schedule both at work and at home because it was bad. My reading was taking a dive and I just was unhappy about it the whole time.

But thanks to a readathon this past weekend, and another one coming up, why I think I can catch up on my reading and enjoy it.
